Great airline and comfortable flight

Had a very pleasant flight, and the airline offers a good service on board, nice and clean cabin. No delays and everything just went right. Though, the seats are a little bit too narrow in my opinion, considering the long haul flight.

Sort of OK

Sort of OK. The website is a bit of a mess and the customer support abysmal. However, the flights were all good and on time. Modern clean aircraft, good food etc.Suffered a broken suitcase and once again trying to wade through customer service. In the airport and onboard all is good, but the back office really lets it down.

London to Toronto return.

Flew Heathrow to Toronto return.Delayed one hour on return due to “passengers and luggage being removed from flight “.Cabin crew were great, food was average.Inflight entertainment was very good with a decent quality screen. Aircraft were clean and reasonable space in economy but found the seats on Dreamliner rather firm/uncomfortable.Check in at Toronto/Air Canada is all automated with no staff around to assist, although the security search was quite fast.Overall quite good and would use again, just wish they flew from Gatwick which is closer to home.

Best Carrier ever:

Just over a year ago (October of 2013), an uncle of mine used FF points to send me to visit my grandparents in Vancouver. I was going to go down to Abbotsford, but there was no Flight from Smithers to Abbotsford, so YVR was the best option. Anyway, it was a great weekwith my grandparents and was nice weather...that is until I had to go home. I was at YVR, checked in and went through security. We headed back to Smithers, but half way we were told the weather wasn't the greatest and there was lots of fog, so we ended up back to YVR. I went back past the baggage claim to the main part of the airport where I called my mom, and my brother who was visiting at that time called me. I told them that the flight' been canceled because some apparent weather (not really sure what the weather was like at that time in Smithers, but pretty bad if we had to cancel). So after I called my mom (who was at that time), she called Air Canada who then went out of their way to help me. I went through security 3 times that day and all other flights to Smithers as well as several other locations were canceled. I thought it was funny that I went through Security 3 times that day and still didn't get anywhere. That being said, for at least 2 days if not more, flights were pulling cancelations an delays out of their ears. Air Canada helped me get a hotel room at the airport which was nice, so I didn't have to spend a very uncomfortable night in the airport (my brother said it's pretty uncomfortable anyway). I was supposed to get on a flight at I believe it was 7am the next morning. I set my alarm for 5:00am (I think it was? Can't remember). I was up around 4:30ish anyway, so I got ready, checked out, then headed back to the airport, waited a bit (Security wasn't open yet). When Security opened, I went through Security and headed to the gate I was supposed to leave at. Guess what, Departure time arrived, the flight was once again canceled. If I had to stay in Vancouver for another day, I would have called an uncle of mine to pick me up. I can't remember a whole lot after that, can't remember if I tried Smithers again or not. The funny thing is I met a friend of mine's mother in the airport (the friend is someone I worked with for a few months). We started talking and at first I thought I'd try to book a flight to Terrace. That flight's been canceled as far as I remember, so she told me to fly into Prince Rupert with her. When the departure to Prince Rupert arrived, we were lucky that flight hasn't been canceled, or delayed. I called my mom just to make sure she didn't mind driving to Prince Rupert JUST to pick me up, but she didn't mind. We successfully arrived in Prince Rupert and on the way we met a few nice people as well who were I guess going to take the bus to Terrace. My mom had dad with her and were going to pick up me and my friend's mother from the airport. Being a little confused, we took a shuttle to one of the local hotels where we were talking to the new people we've met. A group of them left then my friend's mother and I headed to Smiles, a seafood restaurant. After sending a few texts, my parents met us at Smiles. They actually headed to the airport but while on the ferry, I guess they met one of the crew (I think it was the captain?) who happened to be married to an air Canada personnel. After they explaned the 2 day chaos, the ferry refunded their money, so in short, they got a free ferry ride. This is one event I won't ever forget. Air Canada is by far the best Carrier I've ever flew on and they are so helpful. If I can help it, they are going to be my main carrier, and I will always fly with them in the future. I'm planning on going to Quebec in about a year, yes, I'm going to fly Air Canada. The help I've received from them is the best I've ever received and beyond expectations. My mom once told me they don't get a whole lot of nice things said about them, and they would love a good review. I can't see why people are unhappy with them, but I'm more than happy with them. Desire the fact of all the cancelations, I've been quite nervous (I have an intellectual disability), but Air Canada did more than they can to get me home. If I can help it, Air Canada will be my number one choice for flights. I will always fly with them in the future with a heartbeat.

Best North American Air Carrier

Having travelled across the pond about 30 times in the past two years on virtually every US, UK and Canadian based carrier that flies to Britain, I'd say without hesitation, Air Canada currently has the best service, nice up to date cabins and often some of the best fares. I wouldn't worry about connecting in Toronto, Montreal of Vancouver to get to the states. Decent airports, and easy connections.

My rating of Air Canada

My rating of Air CanadaI have been flying with Air Canada between Copenhagen and Los Angeles with a stop in Toronto. I have to say, that the flight to Toronto was not very good. I sat watching movies on board, and of course I had earphones in my ear. Then there's a steward, and I hadn't heard that he would give me anything to drink. So he pricked me on the shoulder, and then I said: sorry my friend I didn't hear you. Then he became very angry and almost shouted if I should have something, and then I said: yes please. Then he went back about 10 minutes and said: I was not his friend!Excuse me?First, he should not treat the passengers that way.Secondly, yes we are on a pilot in about 32,000ft. And you are employed as a steward so it is just as your duty to provide good service.Luckily, the staff on the plane to Los Angeles were better off, they were certainly amricans and not French! Therefore I give Air Canada 3 star out of 5.

YVR-YYZ 787 Business

On board service is hit and miss. Some air staff are polite and helpful others are disgruntled.Seat is comfortable, good IFE, and the food is just ok just don't do anything to upset the rigid impersonal system.Amenity kit is poor compared to other Star Alliance carriers. No useful stuff like comb, lip balm, ect - just some moisturizer, tooth paste, eye mask and the typical compression socks nobody ever uses.Maple Leaf lounge space and service is quite good in most Canadian airports whether domestic, US, or International. Table service is fast and food is good. Ok selection of wine and other drinks.Above average job accommodating flight changes due to Covid and other externalities. Leave number and wait for call back.
