I have hired Avis cars through BA Executive Club in US and Canada and found their service to be excellent value for money.

I was nervous about renting a car in general, because all the rental companies seems to get so poor reviews. But despite the very bad Trustpilot rating, I placed my booking with Avis.com, because I really didn't believe it could be that bad, if I just made sure to read everything carefully. And I was right.Everything on the website was easy to understand, and I found the terms and conditions pretty straight forward, even for a foreigner like me (I am from Denmark). There were no shady terms or anything.I changed the date/time of pick up and delivery several times, with no complications and change of rate at all. (The total number og rental days and hours were the same, I just changed the date and time, but still cool with the flexibility).I booked a 'convertible Mustang or similar', to be picked up at San Diego airport, and delivered to Howard Street in San Francisco. I hoped for the Mustang, and when we came to pick it up, we had the opportunity to choose between two different colors (Pretty cool, because I feared we would get another car, like a Chrysler 200 or something).There were no waiting in line. We went straight to the counter, and the Avis guy was really nice and chatty. We went through the terms and after af few minutes, we received the keys and could drive away. The car was fully covered, so we really didn't have to look after scratches or anything, but just to be sure, we took pictures of minor things.The car was in good condition, used of course, but what you could expect from a rental. It drove great, and yeah, it was just a super nice driving experience. I can really recommend renting the Mustang!When we delivered the car, we drove direcly into the garage with no waiting time. A lady checked the car really quickly. I guess she was just looking for major things, but of course found none. After a minute she was done, and we went to the counter and paid the EXACT same amount, which I was quoted on the website. That was it. For the record, I paid 346 USD + tax for 4 days with different pick up/delivery locations - I think it's a really fair price.I had a great experience with Avis, and I think they deserve a good review, because they seem to only get bad reviews, and I do not really believe, that their Trustpilot score reflect peoples actual overall experiences, because this was just as straight forward as it could be.

I have been an AVIS customer for many years (AVIS Preferred). But was very recently charged $154 for a refuelling service, even though I specifically had asked to pre-pay for fuel, as I have on every other occasion. The Operative at the counter presumably either accidentally (or more likely deliberately) didn't set it up this way, (even though the voucher shows fuel charge of $48). Credit to AVIS after some exchanges of e-mails, and despite initially rejecting my claim, James Tucker | Executive Response Coordinator Avis Budget Group, Inc., came through and agreed to reimburse the overcharge, following an internal investigation. I just wish they had got to this point sooner, but at least they got there in the end.

Used Avis at LHR many times now. But not that often recently due to travel restrictions. However they’ve still been great. Not easy for everyone in the travel industry at the moment. Well done

You have to watch the billing against the agreement and rates that you sign for. This happened to me at the Moon Townsihip, PA franchise location. There are significant mismatches if you aren’t paying attention.

Expensive but they were very helpfull when i lost my money by renting a car from alamo via holidays autos !!! Nice staff I recommend avis

I've never bothered to review a car rental firm before as it's not usually a joyful experience but Avis in Pisa were superb - friendly, efficient, professional at both pick-up and return with excellent spoken English and no hidden extras. It's a YES from me.

I'm so surprised with the number of bad reviews... did not think that they were so bad. The car I rented in Orlando was the cheapest I could could find on the net. They even upgraded me for and Luxury car no extra fees. Check in and Check out was quick. Again , very surprised by the number of one start
