Credit where credits due - Great service with refund Issued super fast

Credit where credits due - Refund sorted via Live chatWe had a booking for a hotel through them with travel next month, tried last month and it was hard to get through but contacted them through the live chat today on the website and the refund was sorted within 20 mins. Spoke to agent within 1 min of waiting. What a big difference to OPODO who I cant get through to, despite trying numerous times via email and phone. Used Expedia for years, however, they will be my first choice now on.

Will book again once covid is over

Despite then being super busy, my flight was cancelled so I went online to cancel my hotel booking. Two weeks later that money was back in my bank account.I then chatted to an online representative about a refund for the flight (it did take me a few tries to get through to someone via online chat but expected in the current climate). Received the refund into my bank account.They've done everything they could and will hopefully book my holiday to new York again once COVID is no longer a threat

Great service in a difficult time

I booked an American trip through Expedia with 5 hotels, and flights. This was cancelled due to COVID-19, however I had all my money refunded and in my account within 10 days. Even hotels that had a no cancellation policy. I am fighting for refunds for similar claims through other companies, and I wish I had used Expedia for all of it. I'm a recurring customer and can't praise them enough. When things go as planned, they are invisible and the trip is what you wanted, when they don't go as planned, they are there to help, without the hassle of other companies.

COVID 19 cancellation

COVID 19 cancellation - I had a hotel in Nice booked with Expedia which had to be cancelled due to coronavirus. It was a non refundable booking so Expedia said the hotel would only offer a voucher. So I emailed the hotel who eventually said I could cancel without a penalty, I sent this email to Expedia who said they would request my refund from the hotel, 3 days later they confirmed I would be refunded within 30 days and 19 days later I received the refund. Once I had the confirmation from the hotel Expedia did not hesitate in confirming my refund. It was stressful and hard work getting in touch with the hotel but I can’t expect Expedia to fight tooth and nail for every individual customer which is why I fought for myself and got my refund.

Cancelled package for May

Booked a package for May, which was cancelled due to coronavirus Expedia made the process of getting a refund for the hotel very easy, using the online tour some three weeks before my booked departure date. Getting the flights refunded was a bit more confused. I waited patiently until 72 hours before my booking date, then had no problem telephoning through to a very helpful and pleasant representative. Refund for hotel and flights came through on the same day, Less than one week after my phone call to Expedia.Given the extent of problems faced by the travel industry I think Expedia have behaved outstandingly in this instance. I would wholeheartedly recommend using them and would not hesitate to do so in the future.

Covid 19 cancellation

After getting passed the understandable initial problems getting hold of Expedia, I received my full refund in my bank within 2 weeks. The agent I spoke to online was professional and friendly and updated with her progress, as she was sending/calling flight provider. I will be more than happy to use Expedia again. Keep up the good work. Your efforts don't go in noticed. Ignore these negative comments, just people that don't understand the current situation, probably think Rome was built in a day too

A Straightforward Cancellation!

A straightforward cancellation. I called Expedia about a month ago to try and refund my cancelled trip to Cape Town in May. I was speaking to a lady called Anna and I was very pleased with the service. Bless the operators who have to deal with daily changes to rules and guidelines with countless hotels and various flight companies. I'm doing a similar job myself and although the call took a long time to complete due to ensuring the actions were correct I didn't mind. She was very patient and understanding. I received my full refund in a matter of weeks and I will look forward to re-booking my trip.

I must be one of the lucky ones reading some of the other reviews. Booked a non cancellable trip to Seville through Expedia- cracking rate on a 4 star hotel.Due to Corona Virus the hotel was staying shut for the period of my trip which I had booked for three couples. Expedia were not only updating me every day or so but also negotiated with the hotel on my behalf for a refund ( on the basis that they could not fulfil the contract ) My expectations remained low but was pleased to receive confirmation of a full refund that would be paid within 30 days - received back on my card with 10 days. Smashing service will use again for sure.

Wonderful customer service and I have definitely changed my opinion of Expedia!When my flights to Vietnam got cancelled (April 2020) I knew it would be tough to get a refund, this isn't unique to Expedia, but to every airline and travel agent around, especially with COVID'19.As requested online, I waited till 72 hours prior to my flight to contact customer service to ask for a refund, I initially had a chat online with a member of customer support (who I won't name) who insisted I could only get a voucher and wasn't much help at all. However I then called customer support a couple of days later (24h before my would-be flight) and spoke to Ricky(or Vicky?) who was much more sympathetic and helpful and put in a request for me to get a refund to the airline - I do understand it is tough for them, as if the airline is being difficult, it does make things a lot harder for them - but a voucher was not an option for me and I knew I was entitled to a cash refund.He gave me a reference number for the request and told me to check back in a couple of weeks.I did so and spoke to Salma, who quickly got up my information and informed me the request had been approved and that my refund was being processed.Today, as promised, I received my refund.All of this was within a month, and I even managed to get hold of Ricky and Salma within 5 minutes of being on hold both times!Thank you so much for restoring my faith in travel agents and customer service, you were both incredible, especially during these times.Apologies for the essay, but I had to give them the recognition they deserve :)

Acceptable service during global pandemic

I had a non-refundable room booked and had sent Expedia a message requesting a refund as hotel was closed. I waited 2 weeks and as I heard nothing chose to contact the hotel directly via Expedia website. I received a quick reply saying they’d cancelled my booking, shortly followed by an email from Expedia saying I’d receive a refund. Yes the refund did take nearly 4 weeks to go into my account but given the current circumstances I was pleased with the service and would use Expedia again.

Good service considering current pandemic.

Booked hotels for Melbourne and Sydney which had to be cancelled due to pandemic. The non-refundable Sydney hotel, I was given a voucher to rebook the same hotel within 12 months.The melbourne hotel was refunded in full.They never replied to my initial email. However, they did send non personal emails and text messages with options. Their service was good given they must be struggling at the moment. Albeit slow. Saved an insurance claim.

Happy with the service

I see a lot of bad reviews on here due to the current pandemic and the impact it's had on the travel industry. I can only go on my experience with Expedia. Yes maybe email replies have been a bit slow but they have refunded me 100% on my money, even for non refundable rooms.
